Valhalla Chihuahuas has always been a family passion and tradition of raising, breeding, training and showing beautiful AKC registered dogs. Our dogs are part of the family and we take pride in ensuring that they are as healthy as they are happy!

 

Valhalla was founded by Melissa Spranger in the early 90’s. She was devoted to showing competitively and training conformation dogs for the AKC ring. Melissa passed down her knowledge, heart and need for the tradition of the sport and sportsmanship to stay at heart and love for beautiful & correct type dogs  on to her niece Jenna; Melissa and Jenna spent close to 20 years showing and raising Chihuahuas together in mid- Michigan.

 

Melissa was raised in the “Show World” and was lucky enough to have wonderful mentors coming up and passed her wealth of knowledge to her niece. Jenna has continued to spend years studying pedigrees, magazines, books, training manuals and going to seminars to continue to improve for the breed. She went on to love the animal world so much she is also a Veterinary Technician!

As time went on Valhalla soon grew to have two locations one in Michigan and one Colorado, when Jenna decided to move out west!  Melissa and Jenna still worked very closely together with their lines and in their love for the sport of purebred dogs to better the Chihuahua breed and continue the tradition of beautiful, correct and saucy Chihuahuas in and out of the show ring!

Melissa sadly passed away in April of 2015 and Jenna has decided to carry on the Valhalla name with the love and passion for the whole dog located in beautiful Southern Colorado!
